Securing Junction Box To Cieling

Hi All,

i have jhst installed a new light fixture in the junction box in my apartment and it seems it is just a bit too heavy for this this - it doesn’t way a lot but it seems that the junction box is held into the ceiling with clips of some kind that aren’t very strong.

What do you think best way of securing this would be?

thanks in advance.

Have you contacted your landlord to have them look at the ceiling box? If your heavy light damages something you will be liable for the repairs.

That doesn't look like a normal junction box. Can you remove the light fixture and take a picture of the box.

It sort looks like it might be a pot light.
