Disconnecting Lamp Post in Front Yard

Hello,
I'd like to disconnect and remove a lamp post in our front yard.

This lamp post connects to the house via grey UF cable which I've followed to a metal junction box in the basement. There's also a white Romex cable exiting this junction box, which goes to the switch, I'm assuming.

Can I just turn off the power, cut the grey Romex cable near the junction box, cap off the wires, tuck them back into the box and leave the white Romex wire alone?

Thank you!!!!

I would turn off power to that circuit and remove the wire from the junction box. Don't cut it. Just remove it altogether. There isn't any benefit to cutting the wire and then stuffing that short piece of wire in the junction box.
