Three-way lighting issues

First, thank you for allowing me to join this forum. I like doing DIY electrical stuff at my home. I consider myself an ametuer at electrical things but have learned a lot over the years by doing this work on my own.
Anyway, I have an issue with a stairwell light set up. There is a switch at the top and bottom of the stairs which activates a light at the mid way point. The bottom switch Is paired with another switch that is connected to a separate hallway light downstairs. The switch downstairs is getting power but the upstairs switch is not. Neither is the light. I believe the problem is between the switches. A broken wire perhaps?

Wires don't break between boxes unless you have a rodent issue chewing them. The problem is likely in the light box or the other switch box.
