3way socket

3way socket

My table lamp goes thru sockets like about 1-1.5 yrs.It's a 3way.the bulb out last the socket.Been using pas&seymor.Maybe another brand would last?loc

I believe there is only one company left making three way lamp sockets and everyone puts their name on it.

What fails on the socket? The switch or the internal parts (screw shell, middle tab)

It's the switch,always the low setting first then med and get iffy.thanks for your reply.loc

If you already have the socket shell (preferably a metal one) try buying a New Old Stock (NOS) unit from eBay or the like.

There are a lot of names out there but they are mostly made by these two companies SunLite or Zing Ear and they are trash are not built to last.

So stick with a brand name that was made in a time when brand names meant something and not just a sticker
