Help replacing On/Off fan & fan light switches
Hey Everyone,
First time post and a new homeowner so figure this will be the first of many posts!
I had an electrician install fans in my new home. He wired the fans and switches as the rooms didn't have a light in the middle of the ceiling. I miscommunicated with him and he installed two switches for each fan, an on/off switch for the fan and then the fan light. I wanted a fan control switch and light dimmer.
I thought no biggie, I can do this. Today I tried to do it and I'm CONFUSED.
First thing I did was cut the circuit to the fan. I used an electrical tester pen to confirm the lines were dead. Then I took the switch plate off and couldn't figure it out...
So the electrician ran two 14-3 wires for the fan. I just don't get how he connected the switches and what I need to do to swap these 2 on/off switches for 1 dimmer light switch and 1 speed control switch.
It appears the ground and neutral wires are bound together...and I don't get how the wire is inserted and not screwed into each switch?
Can someone help me figure this out? Thank you in advance!

What I can see of the first pictures(the others aren't loading) is the yo have one two wire cable with power coming into the box and one 3 wire cable going to the fan.
The black wire that jumps between the two switches is power wire. The other black and red wire is the switched power to the fan and the light.

Thank you joed. Forgive any beginner comments here...
The bare copper wires are connected with a wire nut, and the neutral wires are also connected by a wire nut. I leave this as-is?
I don't get how the wires are put into the old switches...I guess they are just inserted and something grabs them and keeps them in place? Correct that I'm cutting the wires and then using the screw terminals on my new two switches?
So two wires are going into my new dimmer light switch. And then I'm going to run the power wire to my fan switch by using a wire nut to connect the two. And finally red goes the the fan switch also.
The fan switch has two black wires and a ground wire. How do I know which black wire to attach to the power wire from the other switch?
Do I just wire nut the ground wire from the fan switch to the tother two bare copper wires?
Thanks for helping out a newbie!

Thank you for your help! Today I was able to wire both switches! First time, the switches were swapped so the fan control switch controlled the lights and vice versa. Swapped some wires and it's all good.
Can't thank you enough for helping me out!
