Ceiling fan install

Someone please help me -
First things first I dont remember what wires were connected to what upon removing the old light fixture. I have tried to install a ceiling fan in replacement of the standard light fixture.
However I have (5) wires in total-A Black, white,Grey,Red and Ground wire(Bare). I have jointed the black with black wires, same for the whites and Green with the (Bare)ground wires. Only down fall now is what am I do do with the left Grey and Red wires?

Anything type of wisdom would be helpful, thanks in advance

Welcome to the forums.

In view of the colors you listed..... you have a conduit system. There is likely one spare wire there that also appears at the switch location. This would be to switch the fan and lights separately.

If everything is working as it should..... just wire nut off the spare wires. Be advised that the red or gray could have possibly been for another part of the circuit that could now be dead. So..... keep in mind you have wires capped off if in the future you find something not working.
