Weird ceiling light question

The ceiling light in a bedroom has two bulbs. One is incandescent, the other is a compact fluorescent. The incandescent burned out. The fluorescent blinks, with the switch off !?!
I replaced the burned out with another incandescent - everything works OK. BUT if I replace it with another compact fluorescent it still blinks when the switch is off.

Also, the switch is an illuminated switch when off. Is the switch causing the problem?

Yes the switch is the issue. In order for it to be lit when off a tiny current has to flow through the light bulbs. That was not an issue with incandescent. However with LED or CFL that tiny current affects the electronics in them and often cause the blinking issue you have.
