Removing a Lightolier Can light

Trying to remove a Lightolier can light from a bathroom ceiling with no attic access. Have the trim and socket housing out. But the inner cylindrical can is attached with Two flat rectangular clips that connect to the mounting brackets in the ceiling. Anyone know how to unhook these clips so I can get the can down? They have small slots but a screw driver in there does not seem to pop the clip loose. Afraid of bending things too much.

Welcome to the forums.

The bulk of the older Lightolier cans were removed by slightly turning and pulling down at the same time. The clips that hold the can in are in the back and there isn't a release for them.

A closeup picture would be helpful too...... How-to-insert-pictures.

Thanks. You are correct the clips are not able to be released. I ended up having to cut them to get the can down.
