Lightbulb DIY Outdoor Solar Light retrofit

I have acquired some antique vintage cast iron Light\Lamp post fixtures. I'm having trouble locating suitable information to acquire components to convert the fixture into a solar powered solution. I'm by no means an electrician, but have no problems doing my own low voltage wiring installation or basic household receptical replacements.
I've considered even buying solar powered string lighting only so I can rip it apart for the Solar Panel, it's components, the E26 base, etc. I'd rather not contract an electrician to tie into household service. It just seemed like a fun project tackle and to make use of some really cool old fixtures. The end state would be using an LED bulb that imitates a flame, like you often see in New Orleans in the French Quarter.

Easiest would be to buy modern solar outdoor lights, remove the components and install them in your fixtures. That would give you everything you need; solar panel, battery and LED emitter(s). Doing a flickering affect will be a little more difficult but you can hack LED candles for that portion.
