Removing Light Shade
Hello Everyone -
I have a ceiling light in my bedroom. For as long as I've been in my house, 2011, I cannot remove the shade from the fixture. I can turn the shade in either direction, but the gold part on the bottom won't move at all. Is there some way I can get this off, if only to clean it? Thanks for any help.

Most likely it's tightly screwed on to the threaded rod. If you keep turning counter clockwise you will remove the ferrule and the attached rod. You can then work on removing the ferrule from the threaded rod.

Thanks all for the replies. I got it off using a pliers to turn the disc. I wonder if there's something I could buy at the hardware store that would be easier to use? Thanks again,

Hi, any store that carries fixture parts should have something different, although you shouldn’t need to be removing it that often.
