Hunter ceiling fan speed issues
After replacing (and much frustration) the 3-way fan switch in my Hunter ceiling fan, I had only high and low speeds. If your ceiling fan has two capacitors in it (one dual and one single) as do my Hunter fans, a normal 3-way switch will not work as you will have no medium speed, just high and low. The solution is to replace the 3-way switch with OEM, mine had a Zing Ear ZE-268S6 switch which I found on Amazon. This one switches High L-1, Medium L-2 & 3, and Low L-3. Good luck!
