Sizing lighting transformer
Upgrading a 120V pool light to a 12V LED 35W lamp with a .8 power factor. Please check my calculations.
35÷.8÷.7=62.5W
So to allow for the 80% derating, would I need a 120V pri 12sec xfmr rated at 80W? Thanks

Welcome to the forums.
Do you mean retrofitting an LED into a 120v fixture ?
Make sure the LED you buy is specifically for that purpose as the heatsink is very important.
Typically a 60w transformer is used for a 35w LED light.
