LED bulb: not suitable for enclosed fixtures

Is the warning on LED bulb, "not for use in enclosed fixtures" because of longevity of the bulb or because its a fire hazard?

Enclosed fixtures may not allow enough heat to escape and heat will cause LEDs to fail prematurely.

Hi, Heat from a bulb in an enclosed fixture can cause the wiring in the box above to deteriorate.

I'm using LED's in enclosed fixtures in my home.
The LED bulbs do run a little warm but nowhere near as hot as incandescent lamps.
The LED bulb life may be shortened by the heat but should still be fairly long.
