GU10 Bulb replacement

Want to replace halogen GU10's with some LED's .Condo were living in has several , the fixture both turns and tilts to aim bulbs . There's a retaining rig hold the bulb , i can pop the bulb up and out of it , but the base just turns and doesn't come down . I am at a loss , its probably so obvious.

Hi, which base are you referring to? you say you can pull the bulb out, are you trying to remove the trim? use a utility knife or the like to cut the paint loose around it first.

The entire white trim ring should pull down from the ceiling.

Also those GU type lamps (bulbs) are a twist lock style. You have to turn it before you can pull it out of the socket.

You can use a sharp knife (sheetrock knife) to cut the caulk.
Remove the caulk, replace the bulb and recaulk.
