Switching from dimmer to regular light switch (newbie)

I installed a ceiling fan and do want to NOT have a dimmer light style switch due to lots of humming in the wiring. I am confused as I have two black wires to contend with and the white wires are tied together. The new switch just has three screws, I assume white, black and ground. I am confused which one of the black and white wires to use or use both?

The two black wires from the old dimmer get connected to the brass screws on the switch. The whites remain as-is. Ground goes to ground. It's that easy!

Both wires into and out of the switch are black because it's hot in and hot out.
One white wire is a 'return' from the fan, and the other white is the return back to the panel. Neutrals are never switched.

Does it matter which black wire goes to which post? The posts on the new standard switch are brass and silver color.
