I had this dimmer installed last week, when sliding the slider up and down its clicky at times....it doesn’t affect the function though...normal? I was charged a fair bit by a professional to install this so hoping he did it right.

I am interested in roughing-in some electrical wiring to minimize the amount of time I need to have a third party in my home (health concerns for a family member). I'm fairly competent as a DIYer, but I'm not an electrician and plan to hire one to install a new circuit at the breaker box. My plan is to install a bathroom exhaust fan/light/night light combination in my 1940s home. Currently, this bathroom has a vanity light, which then feeds a single GFCI outlet. The vanity light and outlet are on a circuit shared with other lights near the bathroom (hallway, stair, bedroom). I'm planning to run a new 20 amp circuit to the bathroom to power the exhaust fan/light/night light and a new GFCI outlet (will remove the existing outlet from the vanity light circuit). I do not have access above the bathroom and am trying to plan as well as can before pulling wires. I can get to the bathroom from the breaker panel through the unfinished basement, but going from the switch/outlet box to the fan fixture will not be easy (not to mention from the fan to the exterior for venting). The wiring diagram for the fan shows two neutrals and three live wires with one ground. Is the best wire combination from the fixture to the switch going to be 12/2 and 12/3? Will I find fishing another combination through the ceiling and walls any easier? Wiring diagrams for the exhaust fan/light/night light fixture, the timer switch for the fan, and the dual rocker for the light and night light have been attached. Many thanks, Eric
