MultiPole Light Question

Hello, I recently installed a smart switch that was connected to a second dumb switch in my garage. It controls a side light and I didn't realize it was MultiPole as we never use the garage switch. I disconnected the traveller wire from the switch in the house. Smart switch works fine, garage switch is dead as expected.

Am I ok to leave the dead switch as is or do I need to disconnect it? Is there a danger? We aren't going to be using it.

Welcome to the forums.

You can leave the second switch disconnected.
It won't hurt anything but you will be losing the use of that switch.

Many smart switches can be connected in a smart switch configuration. Are you sure you can't connect the second switch.
