Gap beside ceiling fan

what should be done to seal this gap around this bathroom fan? Is it ok to leave it as is as this bathroom will eventually be getting renovated anyway once the pandemic settles. Because my area is in a lockdown right now thatís on hold a bit...ok to leave or should something temporarily be done

Well since you plan on renovating anyways, anything can be done. Tape it.

You could even stuff a little bit of fiberglass insulation if you want

Pull the trim down and tape behind it. Push the trim back up.
Won't affect the operation. Will keep the cold air at bay.
