Linking LED lights - gauge wire?

Installing under cabinet lights. Hard wiring on a 20 amp circuit with 12 gauge wire. To link the lights together I need to use Romex. The fixtures can accept 12-16 gauge wires in the built in quick connectors. Can I use 16 gauge to link them even though itís in a 20 amp circuit? Iím assuming so because the fixture has the built in transformer but wanted to check. Thanks.

Hi, just curious what type of fixtures these are, not sure why you would need to link them with NM cable.

It depends on your lights. If they are passing line voltage (120 VAC) to each fixture then all the wiring must be 12ga.

I think I'm going with another brand because the connections with NM is a pain where other brands have a connector.
