Recessed light heat sensor

I have a recessed can light that is not working, installed 2007. I removed the trim and was prepared to replace either the socket or heat sensor. However, I canít detect any voltage with my non-contact tester to the socket or heat sensor with the switch on. I assume this means the problem is likely the wire connection in the can light housing junction box. Does this sound correct?

Thank you.

Welcome to the forums.

Yes....that sounds correct.
The thermal switch is on the hot side so you should detect power if it was live.

Just FYI.... with installed recessed fixtures..... you should be able to remove the fixture from the mount to access the junction box.

Yep, wire must have pulled loose from the connector. Easy fix, thanks for the help.
