I need to move a fan to a new location which requires an extension downrod. Unfortunately the long wires on the fan were cut short during the original installation. I now need to add wire because of the extension rod. Do they sell extension wire or what kind of wire do I need to buy to extend the white, black and blue wires. Does any wire work, such as speaker wire?
I am trying to replace a broken dimmer switch. There are 2 dimmer switches in this particular electrical box. The replacement switch I bought has 4 wires (2 red, 1 green, 1 black) but the switch I am replacing only has 2 wires, both black, and they are wired to black wires in box. Trying to figure out how to wire this; any help would be appreciated !
