I am trying to replace a broken dimmer switch. There are 2 dimmer switches in this particular electrical box. The replacement switch I bought has 4 wires (2 red, 1 green, 1 black) but the switch I am replacing only has 2 wires, both black, and they are wired to black wires in box. Trying to figure out how to wire this; any help would be appreciated ! Installing a retro fit ceiling box but I have I-Beams. The "feet" are rest (but screwed in tight) on the I beam bottom (pictured), but the box which comes with this kit isn't deep enough when it's resting on the I Beam. It's about an inch recessed into the ceiling. The box it comes with is 1.5 inches deep, which is fine for regular beams, but not an I beam. Any suggestions? Should I screw a separate shallow pan box to the one that comes with the kit? Or is there a better idea? Thanks.
