Light Fixture Protruding from Ceiling - Replacing with Canless Recessed LED

I recently had an addition completed, and this required moving the dryer vent. When they did that, they ran it over the bar of the fixture box in my laundry room. Itís causing the light fixture to protrude from the ceiling and doesnít look good. Iím trying to think about how to best fix this. I was thinking about replacing it with one of the canless recessed LEDs. Itís a very small laundry room, so I donít think I need much. I just wanted to see if that should work or if there is a better option.

Those thin "cans" are only as thick as the drywall so it would likely work fine. The only caveat is there can't be very many cables in the box. At most, you will likely only fit 2 two-wire cables with grounds

You could also possibly relocate the existing box/fixture. You'll need enough cable slack in the ceiling to move it a few inches one way or the other. I'd probably use an old work round box and let it just hang from the drywall as long as the fixture is light. Then some drywall patching.

Just another alternative if you don't want to go the wafer LED route.
