Gas lamp

I have a gas lamp that won’t stay lit what can I do

Start by telling us what gas lamp you have. Other than that make sure the gas is making it to the lamp. Often there is a shutoff somewhere in the house or at the fixture that could be closed.

The gas lamp I have is old the gas was on when I tried to lite it question how do I clean the ports I’m thinking that they might clogged with soot and carbon deposits what should I use to stick up there

You know, that lamp has to be sooo energy inefficient, maybe just consider replacing!

I cant even think when the last time I have seen one of these!

You still haven't shown us a picture or told us what gas lamp you have so we can't offer specifics how to clean or orifices. Does your lamp have a plain exposed flame or does it use the little fabric mantles?
