Have an older switch/controller that's supposed to control a couple of motorized windows on my roof. It doesn't work and I can't find its manual (can't identify make/model).
Yes, I have confirmed that voltage. Windows manufacturer is hard to get... Just moved into this house and the windows are very high and very hard to get to...
I'm installing a few simple lights and one of them has four wires going to it... 2 black and 2 white.

When the power is on, the voltage meter lights up on both black wires.
The new light fixture has the usual single black and single white wire.
Normally I just connect the new exactly like the old, but I can't do that in this case. Anyone able to tell me what to do?
Thanks,
JD
I would like to replace some ceiling lights with light+fan combos - the type with the strings to turn on fan and light.
Do the fan combo lights require anything beyond a normal light fixture in terms of wiring or other considerations, or will I be able to simple swap using the same wiring?
