Changing Light Fixture

How hard is it to change a light fixture if the circumference of the new light fixture is smaller than the old one?

Most ceiling fixtures come with a fixture bar to attach the light to the box.
If your new fixture is smaller than the old one..... you'll probably need to do some ceiling painting.

Sort of depends on what your referencing as being smaller, if it's the physical fixture your going to possibly have is a ring of unpainted ceiling, if it's the hole in the drywall maybe some patch work, or as noted the electrical box.

You can always use a ceiling medallions & rings ring to hide the unpainted section. Available at Lowes and HD.
