The white wire coming into the recessed can isn't attached to the housing the bulb screws into. I'm not sure how the wire is supposed to connect to the housing. Since I'm using retrofit LEDs can I just bypass the bulb housing and connect the wires from the LED directly to the wires coming into the can?
The wires are riveted to the socket. The rivet on the white wire came out. The socket is no good.
You can replace it with a new one or in your case bypass it.
Currently have 1 switch that controls 4 lights (2 recessed lights on our front porch and 2 lights next to the garage). I want to put the 2 garage lights on their own switch. How do I do this?
Hi. I have an inverted spotlight above my shower and the light bulb has gone so need to replace the LED spotlight but I don’t know how to get into the fitting to replace the bulb. Unfortunately I don’t have the make and model as it was installed as part of a bathroom refit. Have tried turning the central unit hoping it would drop out and also tried unscrewing the whole unit but neither seems to be opening up the unit. I’m afraid to put too much pressure on either part in case I break the light or pull wires out. Can anyone advise how I can get into the bulb to replace it, photo attached. Thanks very much.
