Bathroom remodel, lighting install, inaccessible wall

Want to execute a couple of bathroom remodels. I would like to add some wall lighting fixtures on the wall below where the current ceiling lighting is at. Problem is I have no access to the ceiling nor behind this wall. I would have to do everything from inside the bathroom, basically facing the mirror. I am looking for any tips on how to do this, mainly getting the wiring into position?

Lighting where the mirror is currently located? Obviously the mirror has to be removed.

But regardless, opening up walls, either on the front, back, or ceiling is pretty common depending on the situation, just means some drywall repair will be needed!

Yes, the wall part between the ceiling and top of the mirror.

I am thinking the mirror has to come out, cut a section behind it to gain access into the wall, somehow pull and/or extend the two current ceiling lights' wiring into the desired location. I will possibly remove the current ceiling lighting seen in the pic. Is this about what experienced you guys would go about this?

It's not too bad to get a cable from the celing into the wall. I usually cut about a 8" wide by 12" tall piece of drywall out of the wall, and a 6x6 piece out of the ceiling. Drill up through the top plates and the two holes allow you to run a new cable into the wall. Keep those pieces as they can be reinstalled in the same holes and spackled good as new.

Your bigger issue will be that the current cables to the recessed lights are likely not long enough to get down into the wall (unless someone left a few extra feet of slack, which rarely happens). So you need to either keep an accessible junction box in the ceiling (easiest, but most don't like a box cover in the ceiling), or run a new cable back to the switch box, which will likely require some more drywall work.

Doesn't look like much room there to mount a box and fixture. It is so close to the ceiling fixtures that you could consider extending surface raceway (Wiremold) from one of the existing fixture boxes. Ugly but easy.
