20 amp circuit breaker keeps tripping

Hi,
My house has a front yard lamp post in the ground that trips its 20 amp circuit breaker after a few days of turning on at night. The lamp post has three 3Watt LED bulbs with a built-in photo sensor and receptacle. It has power from an underground wire that goes straight to a 20 amp breaker in the panel box and has nothing else on its power wire. I replaced the whole lamp post with a new one and it was good for about 6 weeks, but the circuit breaker is once again tripping. Any advice?

Welcome to the forums.

It sounds like the cable is bad underground.
Is it run in cable or conduit ?
Conduit makes it easy to work on.

If you have a meter..... you can disconnect the wiring and check from each wire to ground.
There should be no continuity measured to ground.

A test for a fickle or bad circuit breaker that you can do.

In the panel flip off the breakers for and label and unhook the (hot) black wires to exchange breakers between the post light circuit and another branch circuit. Flip the breakers back on and leave a light switched on in the other circuit as well as leave the post light switched on. Does either breaker trip?
