How to wire exhaust fan with 3 wires?
Hey guys our kitchen exhaust fan needs to be replaced. The old one has only 2 wires [black and white] coming from the fan switch connected to it. The replacement fan has 3 wires [black, red and white]. What needs to be done here please?

A replacement motor should come with a wiring diagram.
Many times the diagram is listed on the motor.
Those colors would suggest a two speed motor.
White = neutral, black = high speed, red = low speed.
That would need to be confirmed.
