3 way lamp question

I have a 3 way lamp which is marked for 50/200/250 and when I put a 50/100/150 bulb in it always loosens up and I have to hand tighten it. is a 50/200/250 bulb width/circumfrence different from a 50/100/150 bulb ?

Should I change the receptecale to a 50/100/150 ?

The bulbs are both A-type lamps and are the same thread size.
Three way sockets in general have been a problem. The larger wattage bulbs cook the sockets.
I haven't been able to find any decent 3-way replacement sockets.
I bought a box of Levitons (made overseas) and they are poor.
The light sockets are rated to maximum wattage.... which is 250 watts for most 3w switches.

I believe 3-way bulbs will be phased out/restricted/banned come 2023.
Depends on the state....... State by state bulb ban
