Ceiling Fan Mount Outdoor Canopy
I'm planning to install an outdoor ceiling fan in our covered canopy/awning. I was sure I would easily find the type of bracket to mount the box and fan but can't for the life of me. Assuming the brace would use some sort of U bolts in tbis situation? Can't find anything that looks like it would work.
Also I had the awning company install a proper brace that would hold a ceiling fan.
Here's a pic of what I'm dealing with.

I would not consider that a proper brace.
That by itself will not support a fan sufficiently.
I would think your canopy company would have something more substantial for fan mounting.

Here's a wider shot of the bracing. When I originally called them about the ability to hang a ceiling fan they said they have alot of customers who have done it when they install this bracing. I believe they said it could support several hundred pounds. Yikes hope it does.

Can you approximate the outdoor diameter of that support ?
It looks like maybe 1".
It's not a weight issue... it's a strong support issue.

I think the bracing can support the weight. I'm worried about damping a wobble or imbalance. With only a single pipe to hang from your mount will be able to swing. If you've got a fan that doesn't want to move it won't be an issue but if you get one out of balance there won't be much natural dampening in your mount.
