What wall switch for new fan?
Hi all. I'm thinking of purchasing this fan:
https://www.wayfair.com/lighting/pdp/fanimation-52-embrace-3-blade-led-flush-mount-ceiling-fan-with-remote-control-and-light-kit-included-kw10085.html?=&experiencetype=2&selectedvertical=3&piid=67534818
https://fanimation.com/products/fans/hugger/embrace-52fps7955b/
It comes with a remote, and says it can also work with a wall switch (only 2 of which control both the light and fan):
Per the manual: "TR500 hand-held remote control is included. Push button remote control with variable fan speeds, infinite light levels and off button. Optional WC1WH, WC2WH, WR500WH, WR501WH and CWRL4 wall controls, BTCR9 and CRL4WH hand-held remote control and BTR9 and WFR50 WiFi receivers are available—sold separately. Instructions are provided with each control."
Per the fanimation website:CONTROLS
Included:
TR500 fan and light remote
Available:
WR500WH – fan only wall remote control
WR501WH – fan and light wall remote control
WC1WH – fan only hard wire wall control
WC2WH – fan and light hard wire wall control
WFR50 – fanSync WiFi receiver
So I believe I want one of these:
WR501WH – fan and light wall remote control
WC2WH – fan and light hard wire wall control
It will be replacing an existing Minka Aire fan that has both a remote and wall switch. Not sure how the wall switch was installed (i.e. hard wire or otherwise). It's where the old/original light switch was (which used to control just a ceiling light), so I assume that means it's hard wired...
I guess I'm mainly not sure if hard wired is as literal as it's indeed hard wired, or if they are both obviously hard wired (i.e. they aren't just sitting in the wall with a faceplate that comes off and uses batteries)... but then why does only 1 say it's hard wired?
I also have no idea as to what wires there are, as the existing Minka was installed by an electrician, but I assume it has all the normal/required wires, as he had no trouble installing the Minka years ago.
I think this is the existing wall switch: https://www.minkagroup.net/wcs212.html

Thanks for any help!

The WC2WH is a hard wired control for use with fans that are not remote controlled.
It requires three wires and replaces the wireless remote control.
The WR501WH is a hard wired control that communicates thru the AC power wiring to the remote receiver in the fan. It requires standard two wires. This is the one you want if you want this and the wireless control to both work.
