Fan light replace wiring

I am replacing toilet fan/light: there are 2 existing 12/2 wires going to fan/light and new bathroom unit has two sets of black, white and green wires. There is no green screw at fan fixture. I assume to connect each 12/2 to each set of new unit wires by color? Totaling 6 connections?

Welcome to the forums.

The black and white wires get connected to their respective locations.
All ground get connected together.
There is usually a green ground screw inside the wiring junction box on the fan.
Possibly it's in a bag with wirenuts ?

No green screw in box or instructions. Right now I have 12/2 ground to fan ground and other 12/2 ground to light ground but fan and light are not grounded together or on fixture box

The green wires are most likely connected to screws inside the unit.
Your connections are ok.

Technically the grounds get connected together but they are at the switches.

Is there any hazard to having grounds separate. At fixture? Why should they all be together there ?

A code requirement is all grounds be connected together regardless of how many circuits.
