Repairing a canvas cover...

I have a water repellent canvas cover for my 14' aluminum starcraft that has a big tear in it the shape of a cross about 10 inches x 10 inches. Does anyone know the easiest way to repair this? I'm not good at sewing and I was wondering if there is a certain patch kit available that I don't know about, or some other easy remedy? Thanks.

If the canvas cover is not to old, and valuable enough, you might try a canvas/awning store, they will have a sewing machine heavy enough to get it done. I had mine repaired this way, the only down side was once I had the first tear repaired, many more showed up due to the overall condition of the rest of the cover. I've bought a new cover for a 14' for about 100 bucks, try "www.overtons.com"
