Trailer lights

I have a 1992 Pontiac Grand AM that I want to use to pull my boat. I just installed a hitch but now I'm trying to hook up the trailer lights. I have a 4 prong connector (3 male prongs and 1 female prong) on the connector on the trailer. I also have the connector that matches the trailer connector for the car. Basically all I have to do is cut and splice the wires in the car to the wires on my connector. Does anyone know how to do this properly? Or know of anywhere where I could find out? In the car I have 2 brown wires, 2 black, 1 yellow, and 1 green. Thanks.

Some vehicles dont have enough juice in the relays to run
the trailer lights. But normally you would trace the wires back to
the tail lights and connect them like this. green is for right turn
yellow for left. both browns are for running lights or headlamp
curcuit, white is the ground. or in your case the blacks.
