fish finder
I need to install a fish finder I can't seem to find the instructions.
The transom is to be level with the water line? A little under the water line? Does any one know?

When positioning the transducer, you want to keep it even with the bottom of the hull or slightly just below.
The main thing is to make sure you keep it out of any turbulent water flow where a air pocket or bubbles would flow across it.
Position it away from chines or spray rails.
These will give you errant readings.
Also be sure to use stainless hardware and screws/fasteners and inject all holes with a good marine silicone sealer or adhesive THEN install screws/fasteners.
One other thing, be sure to run any power cables DIRECTLY to the battery to avoid any interference.
Once you have the fish finder and transducer installed, you may have to do some fine tuning by adjusting the angle of the transducer in relation to the hull.
This you won't know until you get the boat in the water and test it.
You may also want to do a search on the web for the brand and model number of your unit. Sometimes the Manufacturers have the manuals on their sites..
