I have seen some used ones go for as little as 1500 dollars,
this is a good time of year for bargains.
Be sure to check the area you are going boating
in for their regulations on emmissions. Out here
some waters require only four stroke, and then
only specific gasolines. Its California, after all.

Price for outboard motor

Check showroom prices among local dealers for both new and used. If you live near water, then there are other boaters in the area, so check your classifieds. You might even want to advertise for a used 75 hp outboard if price point is an issue.

I can't remember the hp of my dad's Evenrude. I know prices have risen the past 30 years. $1500 sounds like a lot. Plus, if you fish, you need a trolling motor for the coves. You might want to check online for prices new and used. Also, check ebay to see what's available.

I have pleasant memories of pontoon rides. I always felt safer on them in my youth than in other types of small boats.
