Question steering cable removal

My outboard has two steering cables. Both cables have been released at the end of steering connect. The rear cable unscrewed easily and is out of the way. The front cable the nut will not seem to turn. I tapped the end out of bracket to release any pressure. The aluminum tubing is hard to hold still while I try to turn the nut. Any suggestions on how to remove?

Thumbs up

Have you tried any WD 40 and let it set. With a hammer or block of steel hold it on one side of the nut and tap on the other side of the nut with another hammer. Also see if you can fine some Boeshield T-9 its good on boat parts.

Try www.defender.com they should have parts for it if you need them.
