steering system

steering cable replacement I have a 17 & 1/2 foot bow rider (1990),inboard/outboard. Has rack & pinion steering. This is my first boat and it seems to steer very hard. Can you tell me how to measure the old unit to purchase a new one, and also what would be the best one to buy? Thanks, Don Reed ..

I like Teleflex works good for me in all the boats I have had.

Go to http://www.defender.com you can get a free cat from them there . Have them all listed and replacement control cables for a lot of older steeering set ups.
