lower unit lube?

Can i use a synthetic Gl-4 or Gl-5 automotiuve gear lube in the lower unit of my 70 horse '94 evinrude?

What makes marine lube different from automotive gear lube. The boat will never be in salt water, if this matters.

Get the marine lub and use it. Fresh or salt dont mean a thing here. Fill to the top hole and be sure and check for water.

belt replacement

Hello, How can i replace the belt on my 3.0 Mercruiser engine without taking it some where and having it done? Looks like the engine has to be lifted up in the front to do so. Thought about removing the two bolts that anchor the mount to the floor and having some one lever it up while slipping the new belt under the mount.
