Pulling the engine from Bayliner

I need to pull the engine out from a 2050 Capri with a V6 mercruiser. The head blew and the engine is locked so we are going to pull it. We have the unit ready to pull out with a lift but we are uncertain of the final steps/gotchas in disconnecting the engine from the outboard. Advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Also info on where to buy rebuilt shortblocks or send the engine for repair in virginia would be welcome. Thanks in advance.
