Suggestions/warnings RE: painting gel coat

I have a 1979 S-2 sailboat that sat for 12 years outside before I obtained it. I have buffed my brains out trying to bring long lasting luster to the gel coat of the hull with little success (lasts maybe a year and then back at it). Also, the top deck has no luster and stains when you look at it, will a two part epoxy do the trick? any special primer or prep? Top deck has areas that are raised to prevent slipping when wet so haven't buffed those.

Wink

AND I dont think you will. If you check around most people come back and paint the boats with AWLGRIP. makes for a good looking boat. Most do this after they have had to cut into the boat for osmosis bumps
Check out http://www.defender.com and westmarine.com. They have it

Hey Im a Ragman too
