OMC intermediate driveshaft breaking

Hi BoatMAc.
we have a 1979 Carver with a 351MC (recently rebuilt) that has broken two intermediate driveshafts while under power around 2,000 rpm. Any ideas of why this would happen?

check engine alignment if you feel vibration in your floor on accelaration your drive and engine are not corectly aligned shoul be done with tool and slide in and out with little effort make no difference if professionally done check it again if alighnment is correct and drive un-install and re-install with little or no effort check engine mounts for worn wood and rotten cores Also check transom for flexing
