Astral navigation of ancient British ??

Ok simmer down (;

I was wondering what any of you thought of this mans theories on ancient celtic navigation using the celtic cross.
I know he seems like a bit of a wacko but recently his theories have been atracting more credibility. What I want to know is from the perspective of someone who actually KNOWS astral navigation do his theories hold water (hehe) or are they complete gibberish. He gives a quite detailed description of his methods on the following page so i would very much appreciate an objective scientific view of what he is actually saying

Perhaps if noone can help here it would be much apreciate dif anyone could point me to a forum populated by people accomplished in astral navigation as I know many people use gps these days.

cheers,

Gus

After I looked at the article I realized the Celtic cross did resemble an astrolabe somewhat.
