mercruiser lower unit removal

I damaged my 1993 mercruiser 3.0 lower unit and need to remove it for welding and skeg repair. I am trying to remove the lower unit at the cavitation plate. I have removed the four main bolts and the nut in front of the anodic plate and the bolt holding the trim tab, but I cannot get the unit to drop. Is their something else I need to do? Can I do this at all? It seems easier to drop the lower unit than to remove the whole drive since I don't seem to have suffered any internal mechanical damage.
