1997 SeaDoo fuel system problems

I have a 97 SeaDoo GTI that was running great with no issues. Out riding one day and it starts acting like it's running out of gas. It'll run fine up to about 30 mph if you hold about 1/2 throttle or so but eventually starts acting like it's out of gas again.

The tank is over 1/2 full. I've unscrewed the marine filter. There was no water in it, didn't seem clogged. Tried running on normal and reserve on the petcock. I've traced the fuel lines throughout the system. Nothing feels soft like it's callapsing.

Any idea's?

You're obviously running out of fuel at full throttle - which indicates either a clogged fuel filter - or a damaged fuel pump diaphram...

97 SeaDoo fuel pump

Where is the fuel pump on the 97 GTI? Didn't even know they had one.

They don't. The fuel is fed by syphining (sp?).

Check the fuel filters in the carb. It is very common on 97 Doo's to have clogged filters in the carb. Fuel starvation leds to damaged pistons, so don't start it up again.

How's the oil level? How often do you have to refill?

OKC is probably correct about the fuel pump... I've not owned a SeaDoo... but the other PWC's I've owned did... my mistake... filter time....
