seized steering

I have a lewis Outback and the steering has seized. The steering wheel only turns slightly. Just wondering if anyone knows how to free it up or if it can be freed up or do i have to replace the steering system? Thanks

Easy enough to check for the culprit. Disconnect the steering cable at the wheel (behind the dashboard) and see if the wheel turns... Disconnect the steering cable at the rudder shaft and see if the rudder turns freely.

You have either a frozen wheel, a locked up steering cable, or a stuck rudder shaft.... Could be as simple as an object hanging up on the rudder quadrant...
