boat problem
Recently I have bought a boat that has been acting funny lately. It seems that when i run it for more than 2 minutes on full throttle it just quits on me. Is it because maybe the trim tab above the propellar is missing or what?

You can rule out the trim tab. It has nothing to do with the engine. Its functions are to counteract the tendency of the boat to pull to one side, and to sacrifice itself instead of the more expensive metals on the outdrive due to the electrical currents that all boats have when they're kept in the water. The electrical currents will eat the metal parts, and the zinc trim tab is a better conductor than the surrounding painted parts. It draws the electrical currents to sacrifice itself.
Without knowing the make and model (as samuari suggested) I'd take a wild guess that the fuel line has vapor lock. Engines heat up when run at full throttle, and two minutes is about right to cause the fuel to bubble in the line, which prevents it from getting to the engine.
Until you post back with more info we don't have much to go on. What RPMs is it turning at full throttle? Does it run okay on plane? At idle?

The make of the engine is Mercury, the year is 2001, and it's a 35 h.p engine. As soon as it starts stalling or throttling down with out me even doing anything with throttle, it seems to not want to go. The engine doesn't even want to give half throttle afterwords; but it does start when needed. As for the rpm, I don't have clue because i don't have a meter.

Well it could be a couple things. I would check to make sure the fuel tank is vented. If you can try to pump the primer bulb as it is acting up. If pumping takes care of the problem check the fuel pump. Another thing to check is for spark when it is acting up. It could be a bad coil getting worm and grounding out.

Vapor lock can still come into play as well. Test it by running it with the cowl off to see if it runs better cooler. (Don't let it get wet, though ...)
Another thing: What's the size & weight of the boat? If it's too heavy for the pitch of the prop, the motor will never reach its full RPMs but the carb will continue to dump fuel as if it's running full. This can cause fouling, carbon buildup and other nasty stuff. Boat/motor combos are usually packaged with a correctly pitched propeller, but if the previous owner bought a higher-pitched prop to get more speed the motor will never reach its full RPMs.
