What model years lower units fit

I am wondering if anyone can tell me what lower units of what model years will fit on a 1999 Johnson 150 outboard with the model # J150plees.

We are looking for a used one and someone has one from another model year and said it should fit.

Also this one we located is in Houston, tx. Is that something that would be iffy to buy from a hurricane area? I don't see how a hurricane could harm it unless it got blown into something and bent or cracked or something like that! The water couldn't harm it could it? any examination from the outside should be enough shouldn't it?

thanks,
Nate

Most v-6 evinrude or johnson's will fit the other thing to consider is gear ratio the 150 and 175 has 14:26.

The only thing I would be concerned about a hurricane damaged boat would be salt water corrosion.

Make sure you put a new waterpump impeler in when you have it apart.

What year and hp is the one your looking at?
